Girl Rejected a Marriage Proposal Because the Guy Said He Could Not Live with Her Dog

This incident will prompt you to make an important edit to the old adage — a dog is a man’s best friend. It is also a woman’s best friend. So much so that in this case, a woman decided to turn down a marriage proposal because the guy did not like her dog!

Karishma Walia is originally from Bangalore and works with Deloitte India in Gurgaon. While she was recently in talks for getting into an arranged marriage, that the guy did not really take to her dog, was a deal-breaker! And she did not think twice before telling him how much her dog meant to her. Walia’s love for her dog Lucy is so much that her pet even shares her surname — Walia.

Walia’s Facebook profile is almost like a mirror of her love for dogs. Her profile bio makes her love for her pet pretty evident. It reads, “For my dog, I am the only one. And that’s all that matters.”

According to BuzzFeed, Walia said her mother thought the guy was an excellent match because he was good looking and well-off. “There was a lot of family pressure, and they still think I did the wrong thing by raising the concern about my dog,” she said. A screenshot of her conversation with the guy in which she tells him that things would not work out for them, has now gone viral on the Internet, and people are lauding her for taking a stand for her loving pet.

However, his comment on her dog was only the tip of the iceberg. The guy had previously told Walia that more importance must be given to family than one’s career. Though her family still thinks he’s “an eligible bachelor”, she decided to put an end to things when he disapproved of her dog.

As seen in the screenshot, in addition to being vocal about his dislike for her dog, the guy did not take the importance Walia gave her dog, well and even went to the extent of saying that “please marry the dog in that case”!

“I have been talking to him for over a week now. I spoke to him couple of times more, and he pissed me off with the way he was enforcing his decisions on me,” Walia told BuzzFeed.
